Starting Current Limiting

Limiting the starting current is one of the control functions of a motor. The connection of the electric motors to a mains electricity must comply with the correct prescriptions for this purpose, established by norm.
In order to make the best use of the starting torque, we try to get the engine started at full voltage, and when this starts causing a voltage drop higher than the maximum allowed, we must use a starting device with reduced voltage, taking care of Check that the torque is sufficient to drive the load.
There are two ways to reduce tension in the game:
– Provide current at normal voltage, so that the motor is temporarily connected to the mains, with the winding for higher voltage, using the star-delta starting system;
– Provide current under voltage, made by resistors, inductors or autotransformer.
The starting systems with reduced tension have the disadvantage that the starting torque is reduced in the ratio of the square of the voltage reduction supplied to the motor, this as opposed to the advantage of reducing the current. https://www.mrosupply.com/bearings/spherical-roller-bearings/2070279_23060-cackha3c4w33_skf-bearing/
